The Awakening

Even though many people do not understand our journey, there are more that get it and wish they could do the same. Transform their lives. To live a more stress-free lifestyle or as Sean likes to say, “get off the hamster wheel”. Everyone has the ability to slow down and get more enjoyment out of life. Remove the clutter and the stress finds its way out the door along with stuff that fills our closets and robs us of precious time.
Our lives were no longer working the way we had envisioned. This shift took place over time. Each of us reached the point of taking action, at a different pace. It is something that happens within us and not to us. Many people are familiar with the experience of waking up and feeling an uneasiness occurring inside themselves and within their lives. Change is taking place. Recognizing this shift is important to understanding the cause, allowing us to alter our course. Some people take action with big actions like selling their house and moving to another country to fulfill a sense of adventure they had been missing. Others take smaller steps like going back to school in order to change careers and achieve a job contentment they had been missing.
There is no wrong way to make changes in our lives to achieve a more fulfilled life and happiness. The important thing is to recognize that each of us has the ability to make course corrections to living a more meaningful life. Jump in feet first or dip your toes in to ease into the water.
The exact moment I felt a shift in my life was somewhere around mile 500 on the Pacific Crest Trail. I don’t believe that is the moment my life shifted, it was just the moment when I realized it was taking place. I had realized I was a very small part of a greater world and started understanding that there was so much of life I was missing out on. In truth, I realized for the first time that I was a multidimensional being with a life that was no longer meeting my needs or filling my soul. I needed to find a way to integrate a bigger life plan into my daily life and relationships. Minimalism was the vehicle. I see minimalism not as a way of depriving myself, but it allows me to dream bigger dreams and hold on to the things that mean the most to me. The processes is a natural sign of the growth we are all going through, and trust it to guide you to the life of your dreams. Allow yourself to revel in your awakening.
